Semester Projects

As part of studying at SDU Sønderborg, every semester we have to make a project that solves a given problem formulation, which we have an entire semester to complete.

Willump

Willump is a PCB manufacturing machine. It is meant to offer hobbyists and makerspaces the easier access to custom PCBs, by allowing them to manufacture in house. During this semester the focus was on refining the idea. As Project Manager I oversaw the whole process, carried out a SCRUM based project management approach. I was also supporting the software, both in implementation and testing. I carried out risk assessment, as well as help refine mechanical structure.

Drone

This project focused on designing and developing a drone to assist hikers as a distress signal caller. The project involved doing Market research, a risk assessment, mathematical modeling, control system design and component research. During the project, we designed test stands and carried out multiple tests to tune our control system.

Autonomous Vehicles

S.C.AT.T.H.Y. is a loneliness companion, that is able to navigate around the house on its own, we integrated sensors and logic-based control for autonomous movement. It utilises a chat bot that is set up to engage in conversations with its user

Moving X-Y Table

This project aimed to develop a low-cost, space-efficient machine capable of manufacturing custom PCBs, addressing the challenges small businesses and hobbyists face with outsourcing. This was the foundation for the project Willump. The project had emphasis on mechanical aspects, so force calculations and dynamic relations were carried out, as well as multiple driving mechanisms were researched and tested.

Motor Car

This project centered on designing a small, sustainable vehicle inspired by LEGO's 3D-printed duck, aligning with the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 9. The project was an introduction to basic engineering, with embedded software, sensor readings and small circuit boards.
